It’s Sunday night. The day is almost over. It’s just about time to delve into the busy week ahead.

But wait…

Take a few minutes to breathe and do something for you before your night comes to an end. We all need to unwind, relax and rejuvenate.

I think it’s time for tea.

Bring me the sunset in a cup. ~Emily Dickinson

(I know I’ve said this before but sometimes we all need a little reminder.)

I just thought I’d post something simple for tonight. Tomorrow is already Thanksgiving and I just can’t believe it. It seems as if it was just August.

During this time of thanks I thought it would be nice if we could all share something we are feeling grateful for. So whether you are reading this tonight, tomorrow or in two weeks feel free to share something that you are currently feeling gratitude towards.

At this moment I am grateful for the random hug my little guy gave me while we were reading books this afternoon. I am also thankful to know that those dear to me are safe and warm in their homes.

Wishing you and yours a Thanksgiving full of peace and hope.

Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart. ~Seneca

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. I know I wrote about this date earlier in the year in this post. I just wanted to take a minute to honor the little ones gone too soon and to remind all of you who have experienced a loss that you are in my thoughts.

In just a few minutes it will be 7pm and I’ll be lighting a candle in honor of all the little ones gone too soon. If you’d like to talk about your angel feel free to tell us about them in a comment or feel free to go to the submit your story page and I can share your story as a submission.

Have you ever been in a crowd and all of a sudden you notice someone who you think looks familiar? In fact you believe it is someone you were once fairly close to. You start to question yourself.

“Is that really them?”

“Yes, I think so.”

“Well, it can’t be.”

You quickly get to the point where saying hello is pointless because you are convinced that your mind is playing tricks on you. You continue on with your day and as it passes they enter your mind once again. Somehow you now feel that it was indeed them and you wonder why you walked by instead of saying hello for a minute.

It is amazing how a quick few moments like the above can quickly become something that overcomes you for a bit. For me it is a reminder that there are so many people and surroundings that have made me what I am today. Because every situation and person that has been a part of my life has provided me with something. Whether that something was a positive or negative; it shaped me. I think of the ways that I have shaped others. There are moments I can be proud of and others I’d change if I could. But then if those moments didn’t happen the way they did; today wouldn’t be the today that it is. For either party. Something to think about, isn’t it?

I was looking through some quotes and ran across the one below and felt it was perfect for what I started to write here. It is so true. Just perfect.

No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever. ~Francois Muriac

To everyone who has left a mark on my forever, thank you.

Late yesterday morning I had an opportunity to sit outside for a few minutes while having a cup of tea. I was in desperate need of a break and this was my chance; so I took it. My little guy had just gone down for a nap and although I had many things to do I decided the first thing I needed was a cup of tea. It was a cool day but the sun was bright and beautiful and I threw on a sweatshirt and went outside. I decided that my “break” was going to last as long as my tea did.

As I sat there I saw a neighbor smoking a cigar, another one walking her dog, two birds playing in the air, and a bee trying to decide how well it wanted to get to know me. (Thankfully, not well) The past few days my head has just been spinning in different directions and I felt it was time to try to let go of some of the stress. I decided to think of one of my favorite places – my grandparents camp up north. It wasn’t long before I could hear the sound of the waves crashing up against the dock, or that I could smell the crisp air with campfire trickling through it. I started to begin to relax. It was evident because my shoulders ached from the stress they were holding and I actually noticed the sun that warmed my face. I allowed myself to revisit some memories from up north and it felt good. It even felt good to remember some not so easy times when a trip up north gave me the peace I needed to rebuild my strength.

Do you have a place to escape? Whether it be a favorite place away, somewhere close by or even a room in your home? When was the last time you took the time to go there? Allow yourself the time to. Relax, unwind, breathe.

Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things that escape those who dream only at night. ~Edgar Allan Poe

Take my breath away

I really shouldn’t be here. I’ve got so many other things I should be doing. But here I am. Trying to decide what to write about next. In the meantime I’ll share another of my favorite quotes…

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away. -Anonymous

What took your breath away today?

I love quotes. I’ve decided to share one of my favorites here tonight…

To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch… to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded! -Emerson
Perhaps I’ll share quotes from time to time. I have so many that I consider to be favorites. Do you have a favorite quote? Share it here! Visit the submit your story page on my blog and I’ll get it published asap. Or you could even share it in a comment to this post.
