Hello! I feel terrible that it has been so long sine I’ve written! I’ve meant to for some time. I actually have six drafts started but I just couldn’t piece them together for a closing.
For tonight I am probably just going to ramble a bit so that I can send out a hello and get you caught up with me.
One thing that I’ve thought a lot about is publishing a book. I always wanted to when I was younger but I think my lack of confidence pushed that thought away. In fact, I did write one long ago but it wasn’t something that I had any intentions of sharing. Throughout the past year the urge has come back many times. And earlier this year I started researching some of the steps that I would have to take to accomplish this. I’m still in the research stage but in May I did start to write what I now envision this dream to be. We will see where I decide to go with this. So this might explain some of my absence but it doesn’t explain it all…
As of late I have spent much of my time going straight to bed after getting my little guy to sleep. I’ve pushed through the days and by the time 8pm rolls around I’ve had it. Throughout the day I’ve done what I can to not get sick and find things to eat that make my tummy happy because my little guy is going to be a BIG BROTHER!
I hope that my excuses are good enough that you’ll still want to visit aplaceforthoughts.com regularly! I’m still here.
Congratulations on the new little one and good luck with writing your book. Your excuses were good enough for me. Take care of yourself and get lots of rest and continue eating well.

Thank you so much, DeEtta!
Enjoy your little one, they are only little for a brief amount of time. When we first got started writing our first children’s book. (which we are currently shopping for a literary agent right now) We would carry a notebook with us so if an idea popped into our minds we could catalog it and go over it later. Alot of times we both would wake up with information for our book from a dream. One of our complete characters came from a dream Carol had. Keep a notepad by your bed, in the kitchen and in the car. Keep track of all your ideas so when you do sit down to right you have something to refer too. We both had to get really serious about our time. We established Thursday evenings as our writing night. We both look forward to them. Saw your website from a comment you left on Betsy’s zen mama site. Good luck with your child and your book.

I really appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment. I will have to check out your site. I used to write all the time in the middle of the night and there was always a notepad on my nightstand. I should place on there again. Thank you, Carol and Stacy!
OMGosh!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That’s WONDERFUL news!!!! I think you’re excuses are good enough… you have an excused absence! 😉 ♥ Michelle
Thanks, Michelle! I was really debating whether to share the news yet or not. But it is hard to write about some of the things that I’d like to without doing so. Most of my reason was in case I miscarried again or something and then a light bulb went off that if that did happen I’d want to write about that as well so I might as well share the news! As sick as I’ve been it just reminds me that someone else has taken over my body. I so appreciate your support both when I’ve been around regularly and when I recently went MIA. 🙂
Wow! Congrats! You are definitely excused. When I was pregnant with my littlest, I would drop my oldest off at preschool, go home (and back to bed) pick him up after lunch, go home and have a nap with him, and then went to bed by 8 too, so I understand your exhaustion! Take it easy. We’ll be here when you have the time and energy!
Thank you, Michelle! I can so understand going back to bed after dropping your oldest off! I keep thinking that is why I’m so tired and sick this time; because last time I was behind a desk for 9 hours or so a day and now I’m chasing a one year old! 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to comment!
WOW! Congrats! I’ve blogged through two pregnancies and if you look closely you’ll see I disappear for almost the entire 9 months!
Don’t worry, we’ll still be here 🙂
and congrats on taking the steps to write and publish a book! That is a big step but one I feel certain you’ll find success in!
*hugs*
Thank you so much, Lisa! {hugs}
Welcome back! I’m so glad you took time off when you needed to! And congrats on the new baby! That was the most exhausted I’ve ever felt when I was pregnant with my second! I’ll be thinking of you!
Thank you, Betsy!!!
YAY! Oh my goodness, I am so very excited for you! You are such an awesome mom! This is blessed news, I couldn’t be happier for you and your family!
Thank you so much, Lori! Sometimes I wonder just how good a mom I am so it is very sweet for you to call me an awesome one!
Oh, congratulations to you! What exciting news. Definitely a good reason to take a break from blogging. :o)
Good luck on your goals for publishing a book, as well! I’ve always kind of dreamed about it too, but I’m too scared to give it a go. I wish you all the best in pursuing it!
Thank you, Julie! I’ll keep you all posted on what I decide to do. 🙂
